HOUSE TESTIMONY BY DR. JOHN CHRISTY PDF Print E-mail

9 Mar 2011:  Atmospheric scientist John Christy provided excellent testimony to the Energy and Commerce Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives on March 8.  Dr. Christy used empirical observations to demonstrate that--

1) Extreme weather events are poor measures of climate change
2) The underlying rise in Earth's surface temperature over the late 20th Century is about 1/3 of model projections
3) Climate sensitivity is much less than what is predicted by models
4) "Consensus science" is not a scientific method
5) U.S. climate-control policies will not have a measureable effect on climate change, even if model projections are assumed

Dr. Christy's written testimony can be found here.  A video recording of the hearings can be found here.
